Steady on chaps. You can't go condemning a whole nation because
of the actions of a few.
What if America judged all of us by the actions of our politicians etc..?
The problem nowadays, is that everything is dumbed down to 'Tick the
Box' forms and procedures. Thinking for yourself or the use of discretion
is being squeezed out of society.
What's probably happened, is that procedures have been set in place
to protect children who may be vulnerable. The two girls have probably
been sucked into the system and someone has followed the laid down
procedures to the letter. If they hadn't, and this had been a genuine
case of vulnerable children who had been abused, they would have
been hauled over the coals, fired, and we would have been castigating
them for failing to look after British kids when they needed help and
protection.
I know how you feel, I often feel the same, but how much are we,
all the little guys, to blame, for allowing bureaucrats, politicians and
jobsworths to ride roughshod all over us, without so much as peep
to stand up for ourselves.
As other folk have said, the French don't stand for it. Perhaps the
Brits and Yanks should take a leaf out of their books?
Who was it that said something along the lines of, that for evil
to triumph all that needs to happen is for good men to do nothing?
I think it may have been a US President??
I think that apathy seems to be quite rife in UK and USA these days.
