« on: 18 July 2011, 15:11:46 »

No warning, on came the eml light and car running poorly, limped home, did not actually stall but came close to it, being an Auto........I was thinking Cam sensor as have had this problem on the other Mig, put my code reader on and says the above and then Cylinder 1 misfire.... ::) ::)
Advice please, save this rather car from the scrapyard, been nothing but trouble.... :'( :'(

As you say, a mis-fire on no 1
Could be plug or the coil pack (assuming  :-/ coil pack & nt DIS pack)

Thanks Andy, I think on this is is a coil pack, I know the 2.0l is a Dis pack cos I changed one.

Do you know if these are individual like the v6 or do I need the thing with the 4 pug fittings?
I would go and have a look but it is pouring down here.. ::) ::) ::)
Just been to my Mothers to borrow her car, she is away for a while so no real rush thankfully cos I need a car for work... :)

First things first - check the condition of the spark plug, and also the plug wells for water / oil ingress. :y

Swap #`s 1 & 2 plugs see if you still get a 0301 or 0302

OK, now just checking No 1 plug is at the front :-[

Changed number 1 with 2 and also checked 4 as there was the slightest amount of oil on the bottom of the Plug Lead, or whatever they are called now.. ::) ::)

Started the car and smooth an anything, very slight miss if you floor it but smooth on normal acceleration, orange light still on, cleared the code and has gone out.....so what do you think the problem may have been, dodgy connection in the dis plug??

Looks like this scanner I bought has already paid for itself.... :y :y

Will not use the car for work tomorrow though, not until it has had a good long test drive, can't do that tonight.....

Thanks for the advice, fingers crossed all will be well, might treat it to a new set of plugs at the weekend in any case, just as a precaution.... :y :y

That's what worries me, I would rather find and fix a fault than it repair itself while fiddling, should I get a coil pack then do you think? as presumably the problem is not the cam sensor, as I had expected :-/ :-/

Well i fitted a new coil pack today and all seems well....fitted a replacement washer float so have lost the 'check' and washer level low as well now, so looking like the car might get a reprieve for the moment..... :D :D :D
