« on: 14 September 2011, 18:23:23 »

How many miles has the engine done?  Were you losing any coolant before the radiator bust?

Bung the new rad on and see how it goes. From what you say it should be fine. Take the opportunity to flush through the rest of the cooling system thoroughly.  :y

Got a good rad here at a good price if you havent already ordered one. ;)
Your theory about the bubbles being caused by air being sucked in by the cracked pipe sounds feasible imo. Two ways of finding out - change the rad and see if it stops, or due the usual tests and procedures to ascertain head gasket condition.
Personally I would change the rad (it needs changing anyway) and see how it goes. ;)
