Tuning Mods for 3.2
« on: 20 September 2011, 09:58:20 »

Can 4x G-Cams be put into a 3.2v6 the same way a 3.0v6 can have 4x G-Cams?

In real terms, which would have faster acceleration -
a 3.0v6 with 4x G Cams and 3.2 Manifolds
or a 3.2v6 with 4x G Cams (and already have 3.2 Manifolds).

 ;D ;D

Yup, not a lot you can do to the 3.2 to make it faster, any changes may give slight improvement, but if you want a lot more go, stick a V8 in  :y

a shorter diff would eclipse each of those options.

you have very little ability for the fuel injection to compensate for the different cams, so unless you're prepared to add an after-market ECU then the gains would be very small.

Sigh....

A 4.2 dif. With a manual box, as it's gears are shorter.

I reckon a standard well maintained 3.0l is quicker than a std well maintained 3.2l, everything else equal.

Ex-plod? Manual with LSD?  If so, they leave the line quickly, if you get the traction right :y

ok.. being serious, modding a 3.2 for some good gains requires serious effort.. simple mods combined you will get around 20-30 hp at maximum which wont decrease timing of 0-60 enough (considering the weight and stock hp) .. so, for a higher performance increase you will need deep pockets whatever mod you apply..

so as a conclusion wont be economical..it will be much practical to buy a turbo car which can be mapped and already built for those powers..

the reason why I said buy another car.. :y

also I want to add, another car not necessarily mean import jap turbos.. even a calibra turbo have much better power/weight ratio.. parts would be cheaper than jap cars and can be easily mapped to 300 hp.. although I have seen higher hp examples..
