heater fan staying on after switching off car

Hello
Can any body help me with a problem on my 1999 omega 3.0 elite.when i turn off the ignition the heater fan keeps on going, also it keeps on speeding up and slowing down when engine is running,i have to remove the fuse when leaving the car.

I'm no expert at this, but I know you can run the aircon with the engine switched off, and also you can reprogramme the aircon.

Sounds to me like a switch sticking.

Someone with more knowledge should be along during the day.

I have noticed that sometimes mine does the same, sometimes, and had assumed that it was disapating any energy stored in the system. The fans will only stay on for 5 to 10 seconds though at most.
I presume that from what you are saying your fan will stay on forever, if you don't remove the fuse.

I assume you mean the internal blower motor.....if so then I suspect you also have climate control.....

In which case

1) Clear your scuttle drain out....
2) Replace the speed controller behind the passenger glove compartment, its got.had water in it.

Thanks ror the replies chaps,is the controller very difficult to get to The fan stays on all the time until i pull the fuse,an awnser to one of the replies,yes my car has climate control.

Exactly the same as me.
As Mark said it's behind the glove box so this has to come out.
Then if you look up behind the dash you will see the fan casing, the controller is attached to the case.
It's not difficult, just fiddley.

 :) JUST HAD A LOOK AT THE SCUTTLE AND ITS FULL OF WATER,LOOKS LIKE IT COULD BE THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM,IT HAS BEEN THE FIRST DRY DAY TODAY FOR SOME TIME,AND THE FAN HAS WORKED OK WITHOUT STAYING ON,WILL DRAIN AND CLEAN SCUTTLE,THEN FINGERS CROSSED,THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR REPLIES.

PS SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS MY SON SPILT A DRINK ONTO THE KEYBOARD SO KEY HAS STUCK, TIME TO BUY ANOTHER KEYBOARD.I SEEM TO BE HAVING TROUBLE WITH FLUIDS AT THE MOMENT.
