sat nav speaker
« on: 22 October 2007, 10:41:24 »

Hi

I'm hoping that my muted sat nav is down to a faulty speaker rather than any other problems with wiring.

The carin system works perfect, except for no voice giving me directions, therefore I have to look at the screen.

I have been to maplins to see if they have stock of similar speakers, they didn't, anyone help me on where to get one from?

Cheers

Andrew

Presuming this is the Carin system? Does the original speaker have any markings on it? As long as you've got one with a similar impedance and sensitivity I would have thought it would worked.

Can you test the speaker by using another source?

no markings I can see, therefore I'm not really sure what source would work best.

its got two spade connections on it that's it!

I do need to try another speaker, but again I'm at a loss as too which is best. Maplins didn't even have a size that matched never mind specs.

Cheers
