Removing the CCRT 2008 stereo
« on: 16 August 2008, 11:20:58 »

I managed to get a set of double din keys in order to remove my unit. Slotted them in and the unit still doesn't want to come out. Does it need a bit of force, or should it just slide out easily? I mean if it hasn't come out could there be something else wrong?

I just want to get it out in order to get the CD unit fixed.

Many thanks.

you need to ensure the prongs go the right side of the clip, else it bends it and then you have problems.

Insert keys in at an angle (prongs pointing towards outside of car) and push in until they latch slightly. Then pull the handles apart, whilst pulling out.

Got the b*st*rd out finally!  :) It is very difficult to get the radio removal keys to line up with the pins. The pins themselves are bent to prevent the key from going in the wrong side and securing itself into the casing. Even with the radio out I can't get the keys to line up with the pins! I don't think the keys are actually good enough.  :(

Next question any ideas how to check why the unit is not lighting up? I'm sure I read somewhere what the problem might be but can't find the thread.  :(

The fact that there is no light doesn't have anything to do with the front removable panel does it?

Thanks.
