On CDX2 (2.5 Diesel CDX Estate Auto) the suinshine roof does not move at all.
Fuse #9 is OK, so should have power, but no sign of lights around selector.
Apart from a totally smoked motor, any clues?

EDIT: Realise fuse should be #25.  Fuse OK, still no operation.

Is the fuse #9 the correct one?  Based on the logo of a sunshine, it may be, but similarly that is a guessing game.
Else, as you say, I've got to strip out the roof console to check for power.  Is the control box for the roof in that panel area, so everything should be there?

OK, visited the technical info and found the  Omega Cabin Fusebox Info, which pointed out that I checked the fuse #9 for the automatic transmission, but not #25 for the sunroof.  :-? Always a bad start.  I'll get back to that one this evening, and check it again.

Fuse #25 is in good condition.
I shall double-check that teh supply to the fuse is OK, before moving forwards to seeing where the power is in the system.

Part of motor assembly, all above plastic panel.  Actually, part of plastic panel iirc

Has the battery been disconnected recently?? Hae you tried simply resetting the sunroof controls?

Thanks, TB, that's a job I can do when it's too wet to get under the car for the gearbox investigation.

Good point, SoS/MC, I have no information that the roof has worked since the battery was changed a year ago.  However, with it not working at the moment, I may have to hand-crank it to get some distance between end stops before I reset it.

If I pull the fuse (#25 ; ) and leave it out for a day, will that cause the roof control to reset to factory defaults? So I should then have some movement, and only need to reset to regain the one-touch control?

Another very simple thing to try is scrub the roof seal with soapy water. I left mine for a good while maybe nearly as long as yours and all that was wrong with it was that it was weathered into the roof ..... tight - a bit of soaking of the seal and it started to open - my sunroof indication lights have been working intermittently since I bought it 5 years ago and it hasn't affected it's performance.

When you try it with the switch can you feel or even hear it trying to work?

Good hint, and valid question about apparent power consumption.
No sign of any power consumption (lights dim, noise, hum, relay click, etc).
When I do get around to cranking it open to reset the controller, I shall lube the rails and scrub the seals.  Good point.

The bloke I bought my Omega from told me that the sun roof always failed after the battery was disconnected and it had to go to the garage to be fiddled with.  I discovered that if you just apply a little bit of upward pressure on the switch, it resets and the thing starts working again.

I second Jerebome. Mine was jammed to after leaving it for 5 weeks in 40 deg C heat and sunshine. I then pushed up on the switch and it started to open......
Simply rotating the switch did nothing.

yes i have to push the mv6s switch in now and again! but i might of broke the switch as i removed the illumination bulbs as it annoyed me at night!!!!!!


least the sunroof works unlike my old lagunas that packed up open! laguna never had a manual crank either!

That's not a "failure" - it's standard, most of the sunroof switch functions cease to work after battery disconnection/reconnection.  Off the top of my head, you have to turn the switch to each "position" and push it in, or push it in and turn it.  Similar thing for the electric windows - they lose the one-touch function after battery disconnection, and you have to open the window, close it by holding the switch forward, and keep it held forward even after the window has closed or push it forward again after its closed or similar.
