Mine behaves exactly like TB's. My disk is one year older than his. I belive that he currently has 2007/8, whilst I have 2006/7.

I didn't have that option at all with my previous 2001 disk.
Thankyou Nathan, confirms what i thought, even if available in uk with this system, fairly sure my disc is not capable anyway. Will try and source another more up to date version, if only for the map updates.

Thanks Vxl, i found the zoom option under scale as you say, i played with it once when i first got the car and have not been in there since. Forgot it was there. ;D

Over all, its not looking good then... ?
Shame really, i was hoping to enable some sort of traffic on the standard built in system and then forget about this n95 tv out to aux in to head unit idea of mine,  to get  proper full sat nav features from tom tom thats on the hand set displayed on the screen. I wont even bother asking about speed camera warnings...

Presumably your disk isn't in, hence dynamic route disabled

dynamic route is ability to reroute if you take wrong turn

disc is in and has destination set and shows the route on the display, just been out to double check. disc must be in to have a route set, as you know. The dyn. route guidance is stlill greyed out... :-/

Just to add my bit...

The disk i was using in France was a French disk bought off Ebay (probably a copy)

Not sure if that makes any difference to whether the TMC will/ would work using the French disk in the uk. I'll try tomorrow...

TMC will work with most of Europe free of charge, and its only the UK that is subscription based and therefore encrypted.

Booo ! My disc is 2001 and no sign of a TMC logo either - is getting a more up-to-date disc (eBay ??) worthwhile ?

Well from the reply below to my e mail to tmc, same people as the link i posted earlier, looks like a no, unless the 2015/13 has 2 tuners?
Dear Chris
Please could you provide me with the year of manufacture for your
vehicle.

Also if possible, please take a look at the navigation CD/DVD this will
tell you whether the disc is TMC enabled. I suspect the disc does not
have TMC functionality.

The unit if TMC enabled would normally have two tuners, one for Audio
(foreground) and one for TMC (background); therefore, listening to
Classic FM would not make any difference, as the background tuner should
be able to take care of this.

I have supplied the details if asked for and a link to this thread. I await his reply...

One tuner, just means you have to listen to classic fm, or CD. Lack of 2 tuners will not prevent tmc, as has been mentioned earlier about using in Europe.

Yes, i have been dim again on that point. If he follows the supplied link to this thread i guess that would become clear to him.

That just leaves the other point about the discs tmc functionality. This clearly brings us right back to the start of this thread when you said the disc  does not have the license, and therefor is not enabled. I will ask him if an enabled disc exists for uk/ireland and major roads of eu. Ill have a pound on no! So no point buying another disc until we know, one way or the other.

I did try this a while ago, French/German/Belgium disks in the UK. TMC just doesn't work in the UK with whatever country/version disk you use. If TMC is coded in some way in the UK I imagine you'll need a special UK version? Wonder if you could cobble together some form of hybrid disk?
Out of interest I get the TMC icon displayed on some local BBC stations

I'd update, the maps are far more up to date and you get intersection zoom! [1] with the later disks though I can't remember which one adds this as I'm on my fourth disk now.

[1] assuming you've got a CID
