I`d stick with the CDR2005 every day
Much better unit

Based on what?
Based on the fact that we see one of those for repair to about 50 of the CCR2006 units, spares are still available, the unit appears to be more reliable, and the later Siemens version is virtually bulletproof !
Only fault is the fascia pcb edge connector - and that is caused by nothing more than being heavy handed when you remove it and damaging it.
CD Changer issues aside, do you see many issues with CCR2006? We know they have suspect, and unavailable, lasers, and a bad case of Alzhiemers....
Not really, Its only ever the CD side that let the model down - but then thats not surprising as Philips never did make reliable Changers !
The rest of the unit seems pretty reliable, the odd audio IC and power regulator, but nothing much - mainly decodes.
Oh, and that edge connector is not just the Omega, its right across the range on every 1990/00`s Vauxhall that had a double din up to around 2004.
