Its for sale, but reckon I'll get more for it as a 'package' with CID, CDC3 and my conversion loom for prefacelifts...

What's the package Jamie? A bit more info please!  ;)

The loom bit is simply a modified TM loom, so no mods to the cars loom.

As the CDC is 4 disc, I'd recommend, if you are Bose'd, to move CDC to the bose shelf, which means unclipping the cdc loom back to seat, then swing over to bose shelf.

I had a CID that went 'streaky'. The fault was traced to a dry joint on the ribbon cable connector on the screen PCB. This PCB linked the screen to the other 2 PCBs. The joint was approx 0.5mm wide and a good friend of mine managed to re-flow the joint and cure the fault; eventually

The screen is replacable. The original part number is a Sharp LQ5AW126 which I believe has been superceded by a Sharp LQ5AW136 (this needs careful checking though).

As the screen is a distinct separate part within the CID, I believe it (the screen) could be replaced without affected the pairing issue, since the data and pairing code for the CID is held on boards 2 and 3 (taking the screen PCB as board 1) and these are not part of the screen (not CID) assembly.

New Sharp screen is approx £150 - £200

HTH and good luck

those are my kind of prices now...

theres folks on ebay offering to fix CID's so im tempted to get the broken one on ebay.de and send it off on a chance.....

you say they are £150 new....where from tho?

Please remember that it is £150 - 200 for a new Sharp LCD screen, without fitting it into the CID. The CID contains other gubbins and electronics as well, including some circuitry to boost the voltage to 600v IIRC !!!! Be careful if youre poking around inside it.

£150 - £200 is not the price of a new CID; if only and they could be sourced!!!!!!

I am lucky to have two goods friends who are both electrical techies (one works for what was the BBC outside broadcast unit, carrying out electronic equipment repairs) who assisted in the repeated dismantle, repair and reassembly of the unit.

Search the internet for "Sharp +LQ5AW136" copy and paste, the + includes the part number in the search parameter. There are suppliers out there.

The friends I mentioned vowed never to take another fault finding mission on , for a CID. If mine went again it would be new LCD time for ease!!!

I have PM'd you. Hope it helps

The TM loom that was originally fitted to my car was not intended for a CCRT and so did NOT clip onto the back of the radio cage, the plugs are the same electrically but not quite the same physically ie they don't clip on the CCRT cage  ;). The CCRT uses a different TM loom that costs (when I enquired a few years back ) around £160  :o  :o  :o  :o

The NCDR1x00 cage isn't a full depth cage, so the missing clips aren't a problem.  The tip is to tape the car loom to tm loom connector under a bar...

Vectra C and Signum displays are not the same as the Omega ones.

The Omega ones were common to the Astra G, Vectra B and Omega

The Vectra-B/Signum, Astra-H/Zafira-B, Corsa-D ones are very, very different, and will not work in an Omega.

Yes.

If you're really stuck, I can do via post, but guess the postage may make if prohibitive.
