ive just brought my first omega...first thing i did rip out stereo only to find 2 things:
1)my stereo wont fit in
and 2) the ariel was cut short,so short i cant fit it into my stereo

my questions are how do wire in a new ariel and how can i get my stereo in compltlyi.e. how do i remove temp fascia

Are you going to give us a clue as to year of car ie preface lift or face lift? And what stereo have you 'ripped out'?  ;)  ;)  :y  :y  :y

s reg (1998) pre facelift and pulled out a tape deck... hope that helps

To get the most from this forum, it is essential to give as much information as possible, so that we can all help you as best as we can, but sadly from the information youu have given so far, I am also struggling to offer any assistance.

I know it would help me to answer your question if you could also include the details of the stereo you are trying to fit, and the full model number of the stereo you have just taken out, as that would help us to understand any wiring configuration or comapatability issues you are having.

As far as the aerial lead, where is it cut? Halfway along the car? In the boot? at the rear of the stereo?

The more detailed the question and any replies from you are, means that more people on teh forum can see what you are trying to do and be able to offer some assistance

the aerial lead is cut too far back in the radio bay..with the radio i will have to check model number

The nearest join in aerial is in drivers kick panel, so getting a new bit of cable from there to the stereo  is probably best bet.

What do you mean by your new stereo doesn't fit? I assume you have removed a CAR400, CDR500 or CCR600, which are standard single din sizes.

If you had a ccr800/bose setup, the bose amp and speakers will prevent you from simply plugging in your stereo.

i know i sound stupid but what is a kick unit,and my stereo sticks out a further 5-10 cm than the old 1...maybe wires b-hind are stopping it

the kick panel is to the right of your right foot when you're driving. If you kick to your right ...... you've just kicked it!  :y   :y

kick panel is the plastic panel just to right of accelerator.  The aerial lead has a connection in there.

If you are fitting a recognised and quality make of stereo, then it WILL fit, but can be an absolute bastard to get the ISO blocks and cables to sit to one side whilst sliding the stereo in place using your feet(!)

However, if using some of the cheesy chinese unbranded crap out there, they are often longer than a standrad one and may not be suitable for fitment, but again, without some releavent information from you such as make and model number its very difficult to help you.

There are only so many times we can ask for information from you before we give up trying to help

trying to put in mosca089/b mp3 cd tuner w/usb
m003 30800339 serial2007/01 barcode 5018309110899

where would i get a lead to replace aerial from kick unit

Aerial lead is probably best from a breaker on here - look in the parts section for cars being broken but if the aerial lead is too short I preume it needs to stretch to the other side on your new head unit.

Car400 unit will not have BOSE amp so other unit should be a relatively simple fit if it adhere's to the DIN standard.

when i rmoved stereo from car the usual block attached to back of radio...there was another set of blocks further down the wiring,is this normal :

Does the car have a TM switch over on the right, near light switch?
