Key Fob
« on: 19 November 2009, 11:13:13 »

Hi all,
I am in need of some help if possible, I have the three button key fob for my 2000 omega 2.2 CD, the problem is the circuit board or IC has gone completely, just paid out for a new key body, battery and micro switches but to no avail.
Got everything fitted on the board LED flashes but can't sync it to the car so it does nothing
can anyone recommend where to get the replacement board without paying main dealer prices any help would be really appreciated.

a replacement board will need to be programed to the car, with tech2.

Closest member to you is Kevin Wood in Alton, Hampshire....

get a replacement fob (buttons and all) from eBay, use your blade and swap over the transponder. Then get carpass and key and either take to a Vx dealer or drop Kevin Wood a PM  :y

Until then (and to appease your neighbours) rather than locking with the key reach round to the drivers door button from the back door and lock it. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR KEY IN HAND!!!! This will lock the car without setting the alarm, just unlock with the key as normal and hey presto no sounding alarm at 2am ;) :y

Thanks everyone for your time and suggestions,I have Pm'd Kevin and it looks like a new fob,may go to Vx for a price guess it won't be cheap but I hate it when things don't work especially on my precious mig (I know I'm sad) but its got to be right.
If anyone has any idea of the possible cost then please let me know it will save me palpetations when I get to the Vx dealers.

Let's have a look with the tech 2 first. I can also check it's transmitting. If the LED is flashing the electronics aren't totally dead. Maybe a re-sync is all it needs. :y
