Mine is the 2015 radio with the telematics unit in the glovebox.  Runs Voda no probs, unless really out in the sticks.  Like others, I simply forward calls to my mobile to the car and use it completely legit on hands free.  A P&G sim in the car and can call out as and when.

Pics attached of the ariel base on mine but might be different as its also got satnav....

I don't know if i am barking up the wrong tree?  but i have noticed that the head unit uses 900mhz Gsm and the modern ones use 2100mhz.
Does this mean up to and including and backward compatible, or are they two seperate systems??  head getting cabbaged now!!!

I think the first wave of GSM phones were 900MHz (Vodafone/Cellnet) and the second wave were 1800MHz (121/Orange).

3G (third generation) mobile phones I think use 2100MHz and different technology to the GSM phones.

The phone in the Omega can only work with 900MHz. If you get an antenna that works with lots of frequencies thats fine just as long as 900MHz is one of them.

So Vodafone and Cellnet (became O2) or any company piggy backing off their networks should be fine so long as it isn't a 3G sim card.

Note - I think 1G were analogue, 2G means GSM/digital and 3G means newer faster/digital. The telematics unit seems to be limited to 900MHz GSM.

The base you show in your link is distinctly different from mine.  As said, mine also does for the inbuilt satnav and is approximately three times the length of the one you link to....

Sorry, I should have explained better The base is the same as mine but it only has 2 wires going to it (the thin ones) and the mast, which is simular to yours i purchased seperately off the net

Not convinced thats the right one, and I think the seller may have it wrong. That is indeed the same FM aerial base used throughout the Vx range for most of the cars, but if you see the description that says Astra / Vectra etc, then walk away, as they are FM radio aerials, NOT the dedicated GSM aerial as used on the Omega. The Omega Beesting DOES NOT support FM radio and is GSM only. To the best of my knowledge, the Omega aerial base is not shared with any other Vauxhall car, although may look physically similar, and I would also be exceptionally surprised if you found one for sale on ebay.

There must be someone on here breaking a car with an aerial up for grabs

You got a Vx headunit right? That red block loom looks like an adaptor for other headuntis, just remove that and plug what goes into the red connector into the back of the head unit?

Or am i missing something?  :-/

Thanks for reply If you look at the main body of wires it looks like someone has cut and joined them together again and also under the main wires there are a bunch of yellow and a few blues just twisted together!  Does this lead go straight into the main loom or is there a block connector so i can just change the bit that goes to the head unit? If you know what i mean? thanks

The short loom from head unit to red plug is a trafficmaster loom.

The twisted together wires need tracing back to wherever they go..... Main loom isn't changeable without stripping the whole dash.

I was hoping nobody was going to say that I may open a can of worms if i start messing, it looks as though its had a different head unit at sometime and rather than get the correct plug they have just bodged the wireing
