ABS ECU
« on: 05 December 2009, 01:31:57 »

I know that this is a common Miggy issue. Typically, mine has developed a fault but its sporradic. Sometimes the speedo works and the abs ecu lights come on and other times no. I will paper clip tomorrow to get readings but I am thinking that its more than likely. I've found this company:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vauxhall-Vectra-Omega-ABS-Pump-ECU-Modulator-Module_W0QQitemZ390062715978QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item5ad18cb44a
Anyone had any experience with them? Are there other options available? I'll clean the sensors any way but anything else I should try?

try cleaning the plug, you may need a new rubber seal for the plug, mine went when went in a ford water got in, found the rubber was gone and water just sitting in there. :y

You can try cleaning plug with contact cleaner but my bet is that its the start of your ABS ECU failing  :(

Choice is refurbed one (~£130) or second hand one off same model/spec (~£40-£50)

Fiddly job to swap - just needs right tools and patience!!
