Display fried?
« on: 14 February 2010, 21:35:42 »

I previously posted regarding my info display dying I finally got round to having a proper look, turns out display was working but not lit up (noticed writing on it in bright sunlight).

Turns out it was a duff bulb causing a short circuit which was swapped out but now having bigger problems with it...

The bulbs are very dull, in darkness I could barely see the writing.
When ignition is off (key out and doors locked) bulbs are still lit, nothing can be seen on screen only noticed as I still had display out of dash trying to get it working.
Only Stopwatch, Speed & Distance functions work, everything else just displays "F"

Does anyone have any ideas? could understand bulbs being nackered due to previous short circuit may be causing dullness but no ideas about blubs staying on or the "F"

If its type where the radio info line is above the fuel computer lines, check the black plug is in.
