I take it mr ICE man isn't good at ICE ;D ;D ;D

Vauxhalls tend to swap the 12V and Ign feeds, so this would be my first port of call....

Yeah you need to swap the feed, most headunits come with swapable feeds already wired in. I had to swap the yellow and red wires....

But all you 'overnight ICE experts' appear to have missed the point.

From previous experience with Sony head units it still powered up with red to red and yellow to yellow, just didn't hold memory when the ignition was turned off.

So swapping the wires possibly will not change anything

I personally would check to see if you have a live to the plug with a multi meter (should be a permenant live with ignition off as well as live with ignition on) before going anywhere else with it.

But thats just my 2p

Thought I would do the sensible thing and try the old ccr700 and that all works fine, just the new stereo,a jvc won't come on!tried swapping the two feeds and fuses just in case!only option is that the stereo is buggery!unless anyone else has a suggestion??

I must admit, I was waiting to see who was awake enough to spot that one !!

OP suggested a dead radio, not one that wasn`t holding its presets

No, Unlike the Sony crap, some of the JVC`s are worth repairing
