CDC2 with CCRT700 on 99 2.5 V6 CDX
« on: 03 February 2011, 19:10:01 »

Hi everyone and I applologise if this has been covered, but I have trawled through over a 130 pages and nothing quite hits the spot. I have a 1999 2.5 V^ CDX with CCrt700 head unit and CDC2 changer. According to the chap I bought it from said changer was working fine before christmas. However it isn't working now.  I thought perhaps it needed the code again so went through the usual sequence of holding CD and switching on after ignition on but it goes straight to CD-CODE and no beep or any indication of waiting for code entry. If I just switch the unit on moving from radio to cd it shows CD-SAFE with the small letter cd to the left and up with 0 beneath. can anyone help. Cheers

Sounds to me like all of your CD Changer code attempts have been used up, and the changer is now locked.

Quite complex and expensive to reset, but can be done.

 ;)

Thanks for response is there any way of shorting out the prom on the changer board or is the problem at the head unit?

So what sort of price are we looking at, or is it cheaper to try and locate a new one?

Yes I do, I have both codes, the radio one is fine and enters correctly, but everytime I try the sequence to enter the cd code the unit doesn't allow me to get to the code entry screen.

CD SAFE with 0 means you have no tries left.

Bin it or go to a specialist and get it re-coded.   :y

Reprogramming that one would be £50 + Return delivery - happy to take a look if you want to send it to me.
