Sound aside, does it work flawlessly?

You couldn't have dislodged the wiring under the parcel shelf could you?

Apart from no sound, I think its doing what it should, although I think the lack of radio stations is down to it losing the memory when I took the fuse out earlier.
I have taken the whole loom put from the parcel shelf today, took the amp out and brought it inside the car and then reconnected everything. I did this after the problem started, to see if there were any broken wires etc.
Dont suppose the amp has its own internal fuse ?

Just thought of something else (which probably wont help diagnose anything ::)) it was behaving in a similar fashion a few days ago. I was wrking around the rear of the car and all of a sudden the sound came back by itself and the CD started playing. :-/

Have you started to take this car apart yet?
If so the first thing you should have removed (after the electric front seats ::)) is the battery.
It's the only safe way to do it...

As I said earlier in the thread, the battery had been removed. It has now been put back on so that I can test the Bose system.
Its difficult to do that without a battery. ;) ::)

Ground connections? Cant remember if these are grounded locally, or via loom back to front of car

Sounds possible. Would it be an idea to attach a wire to the case and to ground, or would it have to come from inside the unit ?

Albs,I think an  earlier post said the speakers were humming. That would point to power amp being on & working but no input signal - would it not ? :-/ :-/ :-/

I'd re-check all the connections - 36 Way ISO, Kickpanel connector, and Bose Connector. 0V is via the loom, not local to the boot area.

Another possibility is that you have a dead short or a short to ground on one of the speaker cables.

Have checked and rechecked the 36 way and kickpanel connector, cant see anything obviously amiss. Have checked rear speaker cables, but not the fronts yet. Dont know how I would check for a dead short ? :-/

I wouldn't have thought it would be possible but is the amp connector in correctly? One end has a hook arrangement that has to be hooked in before the plug will go in squarely. I'm clutching at straws now!

checked that. Took it out and reseated it to be sure. :(
Beginning to think ive knacked it somehow. :'(

Although, I also cant help thinking that in the process of removing various other electrical parts ive disturbed/ disconnected something to cause this. Although the syatem does mostly seem to be seperate from everything else. :-/
