If a parking attendant sees you parked there.........bet he/she tickets you.......for their quota.....just in case you are good and pay up.......but you will dispute it.....a ticket will have to be withdrawn.....hassle for you but. id park there as well if no other spaces to use.  :y

No other parking in the area, only Pay and Display @ £2 per hour with a 4 hour limit.

Anyway, the good news is that I parked there for 5 hours today and no ticket  8-)

If the Bristol hasn't been ticketed yet I guess you're fairly safe.

The Bristol is on a yellow line outside the parking bay, they push it out of the garage every morning and push it back in in the evening, every day for the past few months... years... not sure how long really. It has no plates so can not be ticketed.

My understanding that the UK was one of the few countries where you are allowed to park facing traffic - something which is illegal in many other countries....

I thought this was actually illegal, but largely unenforced. In the case of an accident involving a car parked facing traffic though (particularly at night due to reflectors) it may be taken into account.

I do admit to occasionally doing it when in a town or city centre, purely because spaces are hard to come by, so if you see one on the opposite side of the road by the time you turn around someone else will have taken it! Other than that I will park facing the correct way, apart from anything else it's safer and easier to get into and out of the space if there is any traffic on the road.

Many moons ago when the world was in black & white  ;) in the small cul-de-sac opposite my parents house, a car drove at speed in reverse into the front of a car that was facing in the wrong direction. The coppers in the reversing car prosecuted the owner of the stationary car!!!  :-? The reason for this fit of pique, was cos it was parked facing the wrong dirction! >:(

It's probably got no reg plate on it, now, that would confuse a traffic warden!!!!

Well the yellow-sprayed sign has been restored to its former glory by the council :(

But the one in the next bay is now completely blackened-out!

I don't think the locals like these signs much... :)

Yeaaaah free parking again
