I adopted a lurcher ( grey hound x staffie ) from once loved dogs down devon way a year ago..i live in luton and drove to lincoln to collect her...i have given her a safe and secure home and future, but she has given me so much more than that and will do so hopefully for many years to come...so loyal..great company..never grumpy.....thats why you should have a dog...lol....
My Mum & Dad have always had dogs. But when we had the girls I didn't want a dog, simply because if one ever marked one of the children I don't think I could have ever forgiven myself. And so a couple of years ago the girls were 10 & 13, they constantly kept going on about having a dog.... Well we had a Staffie Cross which was a lovely looking thing, but at 7 months old had had 4 different owners apparently...A month or so in our youngest made a childlike screech and the bloody dog jumped up, luckily sitting next to her I got my hand up to the dogs chest before he reached our daughter..... from that day was doubtful about this dog.. everyone else thought he was just playing

Cut along story short after a few attempts to have a run in with me which was my fault apparently... I was doing the dishes when Mrs & eldest were singing on the Kareoke when youngest gave out the most heart wrenching scream I have ever heard, the bloody dog had jumped up and bit her face right by her ear..... That was the last straw. I took the dog to the dogs home, not something I would like to do again as it was upsetting to say the least, but not coming close to the upset we felt for our daughter....
The bite mark went after a few weeks then after a while the girls were on about having another dog.... If you are sure you would like another dog I said to the youngest, I want you to help to pick one but we need to have a puppy, but most important I want you to be sure you really want one........
As soon as they saw Zeus's litter it was like Christmas morning
