just looking for ways to treat my Miggy....   having just been quoted £425+VAT for a CID (new) ,  thought i'd look and see what else there was ....     since i always did fancy a CID,  but don't really have the spare cash....

i also wondered where the brains of the trip computer functions were....   for example, whether it might be possible to self build something that could do the job a  CID without actually being an original ....   basically are the various MID, CID, displays just dumb screens??  with a sensible input that could potentially be converted ?  or are they integral parts of the trip computer and navigation system???  with processing and data on board...

or even,  might it be possible to take the back end of a unit, and modify it with a different display component????

with regards to the NCDC 2013....    do units from other models, like veccy's actually fit the miggy as well??     my cd cartridge is still jammed.....   only been a year....     I missed out on a replacement unit a year ago when i disappeared (see public apology thread in chat, and for which i hope phil will forgive me one day....  i ended up unintentionally dicking him about ....   )

so i'm contemplating things ....   i don't much like the appearance of any of the budget after market units really...  ugly buggers shoved in to a converter plate , SO do not look like they "belong" ,  spoil the clean lines of the interior sort of thing....   and i actually like the sat nav system , just could use a clearer display....

thoughts anyone???

personally, with winter fast approaching & getting dark early, driving around with that amount of light it would create would be very distracting  :-\

VeccyC units need CaNdi Max, so they don't won't, your best bet is to keep an eye on breakers here for a 2015/2013 with CID/GID

Vectra NCDC units and Omega NCDC units are identical (except facia colours in some cases). Pairing these can be a pig though - ensure any replacement is in Delivery mode.

Or buy a CDC3, and swap that bit over - guide in Maintenence Guides.

Computer functions are in the CID itself.
