RAWR LEAVE MY BELOVED APPLE ALONE!  ;D ;D ;D ;D

I jest.. I'm no fanboy - I use a Mac for specific reasons, for most people they're a waste of money..

Ah who am I kidding. For me it's a waste of money ;D

And yes, back in your box, Cem! I mean.. Back in your course! ;)

Seems the new iphone 4S is having a lot of problems with battery life.

http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/42593/iphone-4s-battery-complaints-flood-in

The SGS2 has also been proven to work faster in real world performance tests.

Both great phones mind.

The Galaxy Nexus was announced this morning too, another fantastic phone especially on ICS (Android 4.0).

Strangely enough, I've upgraded my 4 to iOS 5 and found that battery life has improved dramatically :y :y

ok, today (starting from monday) my course was full of people that have no idea
about object oriented programming..  ??? :-X

and a course of 5 days to teach java+object programming is barely impossible..

so the teacher slowed down and I find some time to check OOF..

personally I'm not against any brand name.. but a phone
costing 1000 euros here (dont know how much in UK)
must have to be a bit stronger...not fracturing when dropped even
from 1 meter.. who want to buy still can, but not for me..

my samsung 8500 have dropped several times on concrete and nothing happened..

and I paid less than half of that.. :-\

i wouldnt pay anywhere near that for a mobile, its free on contract, if i had to actualy buy one i think £150 tops lol iirc my sony arc was about £450 when it came out if i paid for it. my contract is about £30 a month with 600mins, free txts, 1gb data. but i have to be with vodafone as they are the only ones that do a suresignal box to give me signal at home. most networks say i have signal but its lies, you have to drive couple miles north with any network to get a signal lol

in the time i've had my iPhone, my son has destroyeed 3 expensive nokias and 2 samsungs...

the wife, has also killed 2 samsungs.

either by dropping them out of their pockets (or handbag) ,  or by sitting on them....

my iphone has survived those and far worse.... (well actually, there's probably not much worse than being sat on by me, i'm not a small fella. )

(although, as previously mentioned, i have the good sense to use a decent bloody case.......  )

it is NOT the responsibility of the manufacturer OR even the retailer, to protect a buyer's investment from the buyer's stupidity....  it's the fekwitted buyer's OWN responsibility.....

( mind you i had a sony K700 for , maybe 7 years???   it would seem i'm not very good at killing phones.....     Cars on the other hand, i'm expert at....   )

my cheap nokia makes calls and texts. and when i drop it my life isn't ruined  ::) ;D

Totally agree :y
I'm sure gayphones and the like have their uses but can be very unsociable. You go to a pub, restaurant or party etc. and all you seem to get is half the people gazing into their bloody gayphones. ::)

whoops,   I need to add, i was NOT calling Cem a moron ,    the intention was to explain that the implication of the word fragility, is that the device user should take good care of the device.....   or is themselves to blame for the results....

unfortunately, the lack of an edit feature, means i cannot rectify the implied insult to another member,

I have a Nokia 6210.  It's been drop kicked across the office in a fit of peak, dropped in water (mental note: check pockets before going canoeing), regularly dropped on the ground as I fumble carrying stuff from the car, gets stuffed into a pocket with keys, and generally gets abused most days.  It's never let me down, the battery lasts a week, the signal outstrips every smartphone in my office (if it's new and shiny, someone here has one) and I'm loathed to change it.  SWMBO has an iPhone 4S and I cringe everytime I see it get thrown into a bag, or picked up by the kids.

They just don't make 'em like they used to!
