Hi folks yes the disc is in  ;D and the satnav is a ncdc2015 h/u just got a second hand arial base as my old one had no thread for the actual twig arial and installed it (straight swap) the sat nav was working before i took the old arial base apart  :-[ then it gave the message that i mentioned in my original post so put new  arial base in and thought that would be it ! but i am still getting the same message ?  >:( i have noticed however that the gps logo in the corner of the screen is red and doesnt change to green i am guessing that this makes a difference ? ):-\  ???

Rob, I'd double check that you haven't damaged the small pins in the connectors when fitting the aerial base.

It could also be that the system doesn't know where it is anymore (often happens when the aerial has been disconnected for a period) and it may take 20 minutes or more to lock onto the satellites.  At this point the GPS icon should turn green, and everything should be ok.

Where did you get the new aerial base from, I did this as the base looked the same came off another elite (dti) but was not fitted with the GPS part in it, how many wires come out of the new base, I now use a £5 connection on the dash that The boy told me would work and it does just fine. I have got hold of another base now just have to fit it. I was getting the same message as you

I supplied the base John.  It's slightly different from the one I supplied to you, in that it has the older style of connectors.  It actually has 4 completely separate wires (3 coax's for radio, sat nav and phone, and 1 pwer wire) and is an exact replacement for the original base.  :y

No John, no blue connector on this one.  I was surprised actually, because Rob's car is a 2001 (Y) and I expected it to have the blue connector as well.  :-\

And the car is an estate.  :y

Have you tried putting the nav into diagnostic mode and seeing if it can see any satellites?

TB posted instructions here: http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=94765.msg1186794#msg1186794

Press MAIN for 7s, then release. Then press NAV. If you dont get diags, breifly press MAIN again.

Its the first set of numbers - 3/5 means 3 sats in use, 5 visible.

If it says 0/0 after a good drive then there is an aerial/lead/HU problem, if it says 0/5 or similar then there's probably a disc problem.

For reference, I have attached a couple of pictures showing the connectors on this base...

Just like the Met put onto mine but i did not have the sat nav base fitted, had to run another loom to get the correct blue connector back (for 02-03 cars) now i just have to fit the base, but as said i just use a £5 gismo that just plugs into the back of the HU and wire goes up to N/S dash and all works fine
