can anyone help with my problems with omega 2001 2.6 v6
« on: 13 November 2011, 17:56:20 »

hi was just hoping someone could help with my query .

i have a 2001 omega 2.6 v6 cdx and about 5 months ago my eml came on had the aa look at it and they were no help but told me that i would still be able to drive it. taking this advice i did so the car drove fine up untill about a month ago when it would start first thing in the morning and i would go out as soon as i came back to the car it would not start , i would then go away for about five mins and come back and it would start again. now it doesnt start atall so got someone to put the diagnostic on it and codes 072 and 073 came on got some advice that this was the o2 sensors so replaced them, have also replaced the spark plugs and gasket seals but car still wont start .

hope someone can help with this i am complete novice with this stuff but refuse to pay a garage to do it so hoping to do it myself

any help would be apreciated

4-digit code only on a 2.6. Do the "pedal trick" and post the codes up. As Martin says, probably crank sensor (0335)

Next step, it needs somebody to monitor the live data.

It could be MAF, or it could be air/vac leaks (more likely)

Whilst it could be a crank sensor failure, if the trims are way off, that may prevent starting...
