ALL Omegas have ABS.

Do you not have an ABS light that comes on/off when you start up? If not then maybe a fuse has gone.

mmmmmh.

I have experienced an engine tell tale light that was wired up with the ignition light to make it look as if the light was going off. The previous owner had actually modified the dash PCB. So, this could be done with the ABS light also. Check at startup and see is there is a difference between the ignition and ABS lights order. If there is a difference then it cant be rigged, but if they come on/off at the same time then it could be rigged.

If this is the case for you then the paperclip test should show that the ABS telltale light is open circuit.

I'd suggest a paperclip test and report back.

What age is your car?

Thanks - Rob

Is the load compensator valve free from rust and cr*p ?

iirc if its seized up, it would screw up the brake balance  :-\
