looked at my laptop the other week to see if their was a serial port couldnt see one. :(

well jase had the laptop on the dining room table and i have just noticed the serial port.  :) which is wicked.

now i can look at getting a cheep tech 2.....can anybody recommend any.

and as for my eye sight best get to specsavers for an eye check!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

It's a VGA port then, not a serial port ;)

Buy a cheapo 2nd hand laptop off ebay - paid £20 for mine just to use with cheapo Tech2.  U can check if it has a serial port by putting model nº into google or try http://www.ciao.co.uk/ - they hold specs of most laptops!

No, to act as spares for the day that mine goes tits up (real tech2 happy with serial to usb adpater, but vagcom ain't - and I have a few vags to look after :()
