List of parts I've been told it'll need so far: Roof skin, bonnet, bonnet struts, catches, screen. If it'll be repaired (assessor arrives Monday) it won't be back before Christmas.

if you want a healthy paint, dont hurry.. base coat/primary coat will take minimum 1 week to dry (thats an optimistic guess)  and another week for the paint to dry..  even if its painted in a heated cabin.. ( my actual experience tells me each coat needs minimum 12-15 days even at 10-15 celcius..)  also laquer wont harden properly.. :-\ (and if bondo is not used)

ps: strictly check job phases and drying intervals..

ouch,

I had a distantly similar experience some years ago.....   I was belting down the M40 at xxx knots,  when some distance in front of me, a 2CV lost it's deckchair.....

which blew up, back, and came down wrapped securely across my windscreen.....     i'd already hit the brakes.....    but slowing down safely at high speed , blinded.... and without getting shunted from behind...    is no picnic./

sorry about the motor Del Boy, but at least you're okay

It's going to be as near as makes no difference a £9000 repair bill. Hear from the assessor on the definite outcome tomorrow.

They've all sold, the M5 is lovely, however it does have an SMG clutch fault  >:(
