This is the bootlid with badges as discussed. On closer inspection it actually looks like someone has added the 'Omega Elite' at some point.
I wouldn't be too bothered, but as the badges are coming off anyway, I'll need to replace them with something!
Leave it de-badged, gives a "clean line" look

I don't know! The guy I bought it from said it had been parked tight against something for a while, though tbh I'm not convinced it is that simple. Hopefully by this time next week it'll be gone! :y

Looks like it's been shot at by an angry farmer!

That badging definitely doesn't look standard to me, I've never seen one like it.

I'd personally leave the griffin but remove the rest.

That's definitely what it looks like  ;D
Probably need a new griffin, as I'm not yet sure how this is attached. I know the older ones were adhesive with a pin in the middle, but are the newer ones only pins?

Thanks for that. Thats what I would have expected, and dont know how to proceed when I get it back (went into bodyshop today - fingers crossed! ;)). I have all the 'wording' but still need a griffin, as I'm not sure it will be reusable. The guy thought the boot had been dented at some point and someone had taken a pry bar to it  :o

By the way Ian, car looks really well. Wish you had been like me though and used an 'unwashed' pic for these purposes  ;D ;D ;D
The reflection shots a bit cloudy  :y

That black one looks very mean.

Mine has the standard Griffin badge but the insides are painted red.

Have removed the badges off my V6 (rear and sides) with the exception of the griffin on the bootlid as it has two holes, however I saw a lovely black facelift saloon that had been debadged and the griffin replaced with the current one, looked very good.

Left the badges on the DTi so I can check which car it is when I go to put fuel in!  ;D

Thanks everyone for your input. I got the car back and am really pleased with the job - phase 1 complete!
Need to source and replace the griffin, as I didn't consider omitting it an option and so, as mentioned above, there are two holes left. When that's done I think I'll leave the other badges off for a while to try and decide.
When I first got it, I gave the car a pretty good clean and a coat of polish, but I can't wait until we get some better weather and a little more time to do it properly. Don't think it will ever look as good as the black ones, but I'll be happy.
I'll get some pics up soon of the 'new' boot.
Cheers.

Opinions seem to vary. I had also considered this, but think I'll probably stick to the original.
