it's abit stupid really i'm my mpg more than the road itself, that shouldn't happen all because of fuel prices. i saw a garage with £119.9 a litre for diesel. glad i haven't got for the moment.

:o thats over £7000 to fill the tank!!!

I've driven Omega's since the early 90's, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0 petrol engine types autos, gls, cd, cdx, elite's, average of 2,000 miles a month over the last 15 years, best at 77mph (80mph on speedo) 33.9 mpg in the UK, 400 miles to Scotland ( cruise most of the time). Someone has quoted 41mpg at 77mph at over 100 miles, must of been down hill, all the way - sorry dream on !!!!!

I don't know what mine does on a long run as the furthest i've been in it is stoke. We're off down portsmouth on friday which is nearly 400 mile round trip, be interesting to see what it does.
The best my mfd reckons i've got so far is about 26mpg mostly running around town though.

Should get there and back again on a full tank I reckon :y

Works out to within1/2 mile from fill up to emtpy to fill up again so pretty good. I tend to drive this car pretty easy as there is no point racing it, it's no Monaro  ;D

I got from here to Dumfries  on a less than a single tank,
in a 3.0 auto elite estate with a knackered head gasket

The New One's just done Edinburgh (rather quickly)  , also on a single tank.

(cruise control on motorway seems more economical than even my most attentive  throttle jockeying. )

i was going to indicate how long it took, and thought better of it....    :y

I was seen 34mpg om my old mv6 3.0 auto after about 70 miles of motorway at around 75ish.

It was the one and only time I ever seen it despite trying to reach it again, my latest 3.0 manual mv6 only seems to manage 32mpg at best however it does seem better round town averageing about 23 and I am quite heavy footed.

taking it steady (60-75mph) mine shows an average of 34.5-36mpg, but unless I reset it after getting to those roads, the town driving at either end keeps it to the low 30's unless I'm doing a couple of hundred miles

I seem to be getting 24 around town and at 60-70mph on a run I average 35ish. Hoping on a motorway run i'll get high 30's. All in an auto MV6.

taking into account the LPG, it's a pretty economical proposition!

Your doing better on fuel than I am!  Though my system does need sorting out.

ahh on LPG don't forget you have to take 10-20% off due to the lower octane, so mid-high 20's on the open road on gas thus far. I would hope to get into the 30's on a long motorway trip though.
