It was for a period off approx 8 - 10 weeks, although towards the end my wife also liquidised the family dinners into a baby food type substance for me to suck through a large straw - which was hard work, but worth it. Didnt really lose weight as I recall, but as I was only 11 stone at the time I didnt want to.
When it was mentioned by the doctors that it was doubtful that the wires would be removed in time for Christmas I took matters into my own hands and cut them off with a pair of nips from my toolbox. Not a very wise move with hindsight as my jaw hasnt been right since. It still click and cracks and gets stuck in position several times a day. ::)

Doesnt stop me from constantly talking 'dangle berries' though. ;D

Y'know, I'm not sure. I'll look into that as they would be great for camping in the VW.

I'll get back to you.

In a word, no, not any more. It was a long time since I was last in the arctic and they have changed to 24 hour ration pack multi climate and it's only 3500 cal. Those you can buy, but a tad expensive at 15 quid!!!

Better of with fortified milkshakes I think!!!

I have never seen the bootie Artic rat packs on sale as they are very specialised and quite expensive, but the normal compo ration packs are very high in calories and you can get them everywhere.  Just dont expect to have a poo for a week after starting to eat them  ;D

Oily fish such as tuna, mackeral etc are full of protein and easily digestable.  Scrambled eggs also good, lots of protein and easy to 'process'! Watch for cholestrel though.... Avoid lots of red meat even though it's protein high, it's harder for the body to digest!

As others have said see a dietician!  ;) Good Luck!!  :y

Actually poor calorific value particularly as it is a difficult substance for the body to metabolise. What you do get is a lot of unhealthy fat instead.

Try "Ensure Plus"Vamps. (Google it). It is a high calorie milkshake. It comes in many delicious flavours.....chocolate.....blackcurrant....orange.....strawberry  vanilla and many more. (twelve in total)

Each 220ml bottle contains 330 calories. six bottles will therefore give you the required 2000 calories each day.

It can be had on prescription from your doctor.

I hope this helps.

See a dietician first. There are various forms of Ensure. You need to get the right one for you.

Been there, done that......might be interested in the military type packs, and to think that I turned down the offer of some at the Lakes meet last year....... ::) ::)
