think that's steep,  you should see what compare the market and confused served up,  typical price for the "competitive" brands was around £2K and upwards...  just for the corsa,

I'm already with Bell Direct, and they're part of Admiral, so when i rang them to see what the score was, they gave me a pretty damn good deal, eye watering, but not boll0ck removing like the rest,   and they're pretty good about following on , and continuing the breakdown cover and such like....

i got a quote to see what happened if i bought her a 2.2 Omega......      £3700 on the same kind of multicar-multidriver competitive policy....     (Confused etc started at £4700)

buying her a 3.2 MV6 meant a £4700 premium

, i suspect i'll give that a miss.

Sound more like a design fault where the aircon over the refridgerant at high revs!

Maybe on the Corsa, but not on the ZX.

PMSL, the above should have said that it maybe a design fault where the refridgerant over pressurises at high revs (as this is dependent on the type of aircon pump used and from memory the japs dont use the squish plate ones)

I didn't even spot the missing word.. in-brain autocorrect ;) Anyway, I said Corsa when I meant bubblecar Micra so apparently neither of us were doing all that well!

... and are crap on fuel, especially when knocking about town. SWMBO's auto 1600 16v Astra G used to get around 27/28 around town & the best we ever saw was on a run to the Highlands when it managed about 37  ???

it's already tedious.....

saw a nice little cdx 1.4 , but for some reason that quotes at £1650 for insurance....

I found the same. Not sure why a higher spec model carries such a higher premium - more bits on the car to potentially repair I suppose, certainly no difference in performance - but given that the write-off value is probably only £4-500 I couldn't understand it. Profiteering by insurance companies as usual I suppose.
When my daughter passed her test I tried to pursuade her to use our 1.4 CDX Corsa rather than buy her another car but she refused to drive an auto. Mind you a quote for her at the time was £1800 and with her boyfriend on the policy the premium went up to £2500. Apparently lads are a higher risk than lassies not because they have more accidents but because they tend to have them at higher speeds! You can at least be grateful you're searching for insurance for a daughter.
