Think the problem people seem to have is fitting the Torque Convertor to the Drive Plate first..... then when the gearbox is pushed on, then tightened it stresses the Drive Plate...maybe even cracks it... also sometimes crushing the torque convertor.

Yep, either that or the missing bellhousing bolts have left the gearbox inadequately supported and this has put stress on the driveplate. Either way, it was a very shabby mechanic who was there last. :(

Is there any sign of scoring on the torque converter nose? That might indicate if it has had the gearbox rammed back onto the TC.

Didn't actually see any scoring or crush marks on the torque convertor Kev being honest, but I will take a better look tomorrow in case we need one of those too.

Drive Plate, Gearbox etc etc all back on. Gearbox Oil topped up. Then out for a drive.
Your car really drives nice Pauline, no pulling either way, even on breaking, no knocking over bumps, engine sounds sweet, should last you for a while mate :y.

Drive Plate is in the boot so you can show Mrs. Pauline  ;D
