Snowing here,
« on: 26 January 2012, 17:43:41 »

First heavy snow showers of the year, and everything grinds to a stop,Heads of the valleys road bumper to bumper. Why can't the council get it right, and get the gritters working at the right place and time.

Ahhhh, what a change to be warm and cosy in the house as it snows instead of peering out of the windows in work, wondering if I'm gonna have to walk home  8) 8) 8)

Nothing over on the east coast.  We are usually the last to get it, if at all!  :y

Nah, none here ;)

Forecasting some for the weekend, but even if it does, I doubt it will even be a dusting.  Its so unusually mild. And dry.  So water shortages this summer I guess...

Although we have, in recent times, had disruptive snowfall in May, its unusual to get disruptive snowfall beyond Feb in this part of the UK.

I like snow. I a big child. I hope I'm wrong, but I still think I won't see (enough to be worthwhile) snow this winter.

First real cold snap this winter in the Ukraine has hit this week where my wife is, they had about 100mm snow over the weekend, with the temperature steadily dropping.

It was crisp -14degC this morning with a strong north-easterly wind and sleet and the temperature during the day rose to -11degC.  :o :o :o

Tomorrow morning they have forecast it even crisper with a temperature of -18degC, with sunshine and light northerly wind, so the temperature will rise to a mild -14degC and then down to -19degC tomorrow night.  :o :o :o

My wife and her sister have to walk 2km each way to the school they teach at.  ::) They are both looking forward to when I'm over there with a car, so they can get a lift.  :y
