Way overpriced classics.
« on: 29 January 2012, 20:39:34 »

For example:-http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1967-E-MK1-FORD-CORTINA-1500-SUPER-ESTATE-ULTRA-RARE-DRY-STORED-25-YEARS-/230737319075?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item35b90414a3!!!! £10k with a respray? Have they been sniffing the thinners?

It's listings like this that make folk think some old piece of junk they've had rotting away for years is worthy of a place in Beaulieu with spoils it for the real enthusiasts. There's simply no point in spending time & money on something so far overpriced. This is nearly the same as my last one. I paid £1500 for it, improved it a little, re mot'd it, long (free tax) so it can be driven & sold it on after a years enjoyment for £1750. The new owner drove it back to Croydon & is still enjoying it. Other listings are becoming equally as silly so i might take a step back from classic ownership for a year or two until the market outprices itself again.

I'm gonna miss it though!! :'(

Fully agree Guy, seems that any old Mini is worth £3 - 5k for not the best examples...... ::) ::) ::)
