The point is that they are taking money from motorists for a misdemeanor and using the money to compensate the victims of real crime. Criminal injuries etc. >:( >:(

When in fact those who commit real crime should pay their victims compensation for the damage, injury, stress etc.

Speeding penalties are there as a deterent not to fund others

im sorry but who is the victim of the crime of speeding  ??????

Householders and pedestrians who have to suffer excessive noise and danger. The outside noise from modern cars is immense compared to old cars.
Whether that noise is generated by tyres, engines, exhausts or wind noise I don't know. What I can say is I am out at 7am every Saturday morning walking along a main road with houses on both sides and a 30mph limit. Some "people" seem to think because it is early it is ok to double that speed, or worse overtake in the wrong places when someone is doing the speed limit.

For every action there is a reaction.

And I suppose you never speed then Mantahatch?

Funnily enough very rarely. Usually only when entering a lower speed limit, I don't brake just allow the car to coast to the lower limit. Of course I am no angel, and make mistakes like anyone. I was just answering a question. Sadly some people feel it is there right to do what ever they like on our roads with no consequences. I was merely pointing out that there are people who suffer when some of us speed.
