It'll still go without a lambda, right?
« on: 15 February 2012, 18:06:42 »

Just a quickie.  The old barge looks like it's heading for the scrappie as no-one seems interested in buying it.
I'm thinking that the 1-yr-old NGK(?) lambda probe ought to come out before it gets to the scrapyard, potentially for the benefit of someone on here.

I've only gotta go a few miles for its last journey; it should do that fine shouldn't it, albeit with an EML on?

Edit: Oh, '95 2.0 16v btw.

Do you mean why is the car getting scrapped, or why did the lambda get replaced a year ago?

I'm not sure that I will.
They're worth more if they have a b and a d though.

It has been replaced.
It's rusty.
It is using a little coolant, which I'm pretty sure is going into pot 4.
It is burning a lot of oil, which is making it smelly at the tailpipe; I suspect valve stem seals.
Its MOT runs out in 5 weeks' time.

Other than that, there's not much wrong with it.  :y

It's for sale on here, but only one brief sniff of interest.

Trouble is, most people on here already have one (and virtually every one is better than this example).  ;D

I can't be ahhhhsed trying elsewhere, since no-one's going to give me much more than the scrap value.
