Problem 1: Everybody seems to think they are a good (or at least above average) driver.
Problem 2: Stereotypes
Problem 3: The major problem. Everybody was taught to pass their driving test, rather than taught to drive.

gotta agree with no.3 there !!   In 1997 I did extra training and took (and passed) the IAM driving test.  It was really interesting learning a whole new driving technique, including 'flatting out bends' so that you took 'the racing line' through them    :y
