 :(Hi everyone my first post so here goes !!
I,m sure your gonna tell me the answer is already here but am unable to find, but on-board computer keeps coming up auto gearbox
and I am having to use gearbox through the gears around town as there is no pull when in drive when I go to pull away.
It has being doing it for a while now but before if say went to shop then got back in and started it up it had gone off and it drove as normal
I have a 2.5V6 2000 CAN ANYONE POINT ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION

The Transmission has gone into a 'safe' mode.  It will not use 1st or 2nd gear unless you select them manually (which you are doing).

Your best bet is to get the codes read from the Auto Transmission.  Then you will KNOW what the fault is.

However, it is likely to be one of a couple of things.

Are the lights behaving properly (the ones next to the stick, showing which gear you are in)?

Before this became a problem, was the Transmission shifting as normal, or was it a little clunky?


Cirencester isn't far from me, (I'm in Bristol).  I can read the codes, but I'm not available for a couple of weeks.
