Interesting sort of day
« on: 21 February 2017, 14:32:58 »

I'm currently working in West France near Nantes, our place makes mounded plastic tanks for agriculture (fuel, ad blu, water etc for tractors). Not that interesting.

However, it faces an enormous Airbus facility, so big in fact it has its own hopper bus service.  I've been able to watch the Belugas taking off and landing all day, and they have what looks like a DC3 parked over by the main entrance which I might try and have a look at this evening.

Sad, but it's keeping me entertained.  ;D

Speak to Jimbob as he sees the Belugas at the other end of their journey whilst enjoying a top notch fryup.  :y

Interesting! Is that down at Filton?

I used to work for GKN and had a few trips down there (we shared the site with Airbus). Wing spars iirc, although I sadly never saw a Beluga there  :-\.

Did see Concorde though  :y

Quick snap from the local airport on the way home. Sadly no better view is available, don't think I have ever seen an Antonov before and I'm amazed that the runway here is long enough to take this behemoth.

It's bigger brother must be quite a sight!

Indeed it is! Saw it at Farnborough in its' youth. I fully believed it was about to bulldoze half the town before it got airborne! ;D
