AUX IN for OEM H/U
« on: 16 September 2014, 23:23:41 »

Who fancies one?

There is a chap on VxON who has successfully done this for very few beer tokens to the CDR2005 and CDR500.

I have messaged him with regards to the NCDC20xx H/U's and he seems optimistic, but will look into it further tomorrow.

For the sake of £30 (the price to VxON members) I'll send off my H/U for him to try.

Is this old news, or have I stumbled upon something?  I know there is a (quite tricky) DIY for this, but for the small price involved, it may open up avenues to those who aren't quite so skilled in component level sparks.

Nothing new In my opinion, I was modding CCR2006's and NCDC2013/15's for MP3 in for a couple of Vxon Members about 7 years ago despite most on here saying its not doable without a FM transmitter.  ::)

Shame the guy didn't sort out the i/p levels while he was in there.

Do you still do it, and roughly at what cost?  I REALLY want it done!  :y

Aux out isn't too difficult either, for those wanting to run a decent amp.

<cough!> Blow the dust off this if you want to have a go. http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=90541.0

The system I have seen done is nothing more than a jack socket which intercepts the stereo feed to the tone chip, the issue is that the fitting did not consider matching impedances from sources such as ipods and phones etc. so was a bit compromised (I suspect this is mainly down to the person doing it being a bit lacking in analogue electronics knowledge)

I have Aux IN running successfully on my MV6's NCR1500, the Battlebus' NCDR1100, and "working" on TBE's NCDC2013 - the latter needing further work and a better way to switch it. Winter project.
