The thing with DRLs is that they tend to throw a bit of light forward and light up the instruments so anyone half asleep doesn't realise that they actually have NO rear lights on.
 ......

true ..... but it's still  up to the driver to check they've got their lights on.

The amount of morons driving along the Ai4 near BSE with no lights, or only DRL's at the front, in foggy conditions.
But the lights are automatic, they switch themselves on. I don't have to think about things like that. Or much at all, really.  ::)

It always amazes me the number of people that drive first thing in the morning on just DRLs .... when I've pulled up alongside them & suggested they should/could turn their lights on, I've just been met by a blank look!  ??? ???
My ML's light switch doesn't even have an 'OFF' position.

You watch, over £300 spent and she will never get a puncture again.
A small price to pay IMHO

Manufactures should supply a full size spare wheel and tyre by law as part of the car.

This used to be so. :-X

and if you had staggered wheels/tyres, what size would you carry? Or would you carry 2 ....?  ;) ;)

Omega General Help / Re: Opel Omega V6 2.6 Timing Belt
« on: 23 December 2024, 12:33:39 »
Price from the independent workshop seems to be quite more reasonable, 790€ including the water pump and 6 hours of work.
I've seen a cambelt done (properly) by Marks DTM in 45 minutes start to finish.  It was getting desperately close to Beer O'Clock, hence the speed.

6 hours sounds incorrect.

Who ever you use, they absolutely must use a locking and timing kit. It can not be done without, anyone who says it can is a liar.

it took me a whole week end when I did my first cam belt .... I started it but then felt unwell  :( so did it a bit at a time over the next few days  ;D

He is on the autism spectrum so lucky he's as good as he is
I think we all have some markers, if we're perfectly honest with ourselves....

Its just some of us are better at masking!
All that means is we're all different, and see things in a different way. There's no such thing as normal, especially in todays world.

Imo its rare to have serious enough fog to use foglights amywhere in the UK.  :)

exactly .....

but you know that at the very 1st sight of a little morning mist, you'll end up behind some numpty with their rear fogs on even though you can see 2 miles up the road!  :-X

theres a plug/socket in the boot that would feed the rear fogs for a trailer  .... in normal use there should be a bridging plug  shorting the blue/black wire.

Its been a looooong while though since I've even seen an Omega  ???

Blimey. How many of you jumped when it went pop :D

I had an old tyre burst on one of my Triumphs in the garage a few years ago. They were only being used for the car to stand on while doing some restoration work. I heard the explosion from the house which is around 20m away from the garage. Good job I didn't have my head under the car at the time..... :o
