General Car Chat / Latest sheddy motor
« on: 30 April 2015, 21:40:28 »
Big juicy Saab has to go as it's going through petrol like STMO does nappies so needed something cheap and economical to batter to work and back, spotted a 306 2.0HDI on the bay for 250 ono as it has a month left on the MOT,great condition and drove mint and I got it for 150  ;D. Plan was for it to be a free car as the original cat is worth 220 and would have been removed but some shite garage has fitted an aftermarket one along with a new exhaust  ::)

186,875 miles on it  :D  How long do you reckon it will last  ?

Bangernomics rules  :y

Looking to come off a rip off vodafone contract and go sim only, loads of options but these 2 seem decent price wise. Any coverage issues experienced by anyone? also believe GG will pay for reccomendations by existing users so first person to provide me a link or whatever is needed will get the bonus should I choose to go with them  :y

General Car Chat / RS2000 4x4, I'm gutted
« on: 02 March 2015, 23:05:04 »
Gutted, I used to work with a guy who had a mint early RS2000 Escort 4x4 which I wanted really badly, he's just got in touch to say he's decided to sell through lack of time to use it and offered me it for a ridiculously low number. I'm getting married this year and all funds are tied up   :'( :'( There can't be more than 20 of this model left, maybe less

General Car Chat / Mondeo tdci help
« on: 07 February 2015, 07:01:37 »
I picked this up as a breaker but to be honest it seems to be in very good shape considering the miles and has had a shed load spent on it, new DMF and timing chain kit. I've only heard it run briefly due to being ill but the seller said it has full power, egr is clean and works fine, injectors have been tested and turbo is all good. I'm going to start with checking all air pipes for splits and after that maybe look  at the timing but any other suggestions welcome. The cat is worth 120 so I can't lose on it  :y

Diesels are a dark art to me ;D

« on: 12 January 2015, 20:10:18 »
Been trying to help out a guy whos fried his ecu on his  2.5 manual V6, previous info here stated it had to be a V6 manual replacement ABS ecu as I already had one from a 4 pot. Will one from a 2.6 manual do the job??????? or will the DBW difference cause an issue
