I know its a long shot but does anybody know anyone from the "Footballing Family" who seem to have been given a big dollop of the ticket allocation?

I didn't qualify for one by the looks of it  :'(so give me a nod if any signs of a ticket for a commited fan!!!

General Discussion Area / Insurance Database access
« on: 14 May 2009, 19:00:04 »
I assume people are aware of this link where you can check any reg number to see if it's insured! you know, the horrible neighbour, pleb in work , kn*b down the pub etc etc

http://www.askmid.com/ownvehicle/

wouldn't it be awful for them to get their car seized for driving without insurance!

I had a bad day but feel better now :)

General Discussion Area / How much for a scrapper?
« on: 12 May 2009, 20:23:50 »
Gave a local a knock today as he has had an elite on his drive for a year or two with flat tyres etc, mentioned I could be interested in some parts but it would be easier to take the whole thing off his hands. Apparently the autobox is goosed and one of the heads had gone porous? Definately isn't goin back on the road....

Anyways I offers him 120 as I could take it and pick what I need at my leisure but he looked as though I had insulted his wife. It has the old leather int without airbags so I wouldnt make a fortune breaking it methinks,  What do you reckon its worth?

General Discussion Area / Lower elite F/bumper lip needed, Z147
« on: 30 April 2009, 21:11:05 »
Hi, Mods to move or delete as they choose but would be grateful if moved.

Big crack in mine so tow eye cover has fallen off, I only need the lower colour coded section for my mini facelift but would take a full bumper if I need to, wouldn't say no to a set of door strips from a facelift model too if any are going.

Cheers Jon

Hi all,

I sold my mint 190e Merc a while ago and have itchy fingers, so the choice is either-

st165 celica GT4 around 86-89

E28 M535i BMW of similar vintage

I dont think you can beat a bit of old school cool espescially on classic insurance! Im keeping the Miggy by the way.

Can anyone link up a couple of decent pics as I dont know how to ?

Any opinions welcome

General Discussion Area / rather Burglars!
« on: 06 February 2009, 12:56:41 »
Popped out with the missus after our tea last night about 7ish, Mobile went about half an hour later, the neighbour to say the alarm was going off and someone had tried to bust the patio door in.

Thankfully they seem to have legged it when the alarm started!

Lucky for me I only installed the alarm 2 weeks ago after not being bothered for 15 years! No real damage but the Missus is flapping big time and now wants to move.

Apparently they knock on the door and if no answer they have a crack at the house, two more were attempted nearby, sadly one was succesfully burgled.

Anyone for a lynching party ? BTW I recommend the Friedland wireless alarm system from B&Q, does the job for 200.

I have been pondering what things I couldn't bear to economise on and will list as follows:

Socks

Tomato sauce (HEINZ)

bacon

bog roll

bread(Warburton toastie)

undies

Whisky ( Jameson )

What about the rest of you?

General Discussion Area / Spottted in a scrappie near me section
« on: 02 January 2009, 13:43:02 »
Having seen loads rust free miggies in breakers with imaculate panels and interiors go off for crushing, would it be possible to have a spotted section to alert owners of what is knocking about, possibly with contact details of the yards.

Seems a shame that the door/ bonnet/door card you need in the right colour is about to get binned when it could be useful but you dont know it is there.

Lets face it they rust like hell and spraywork is expensive!

Just a thought

After 5 years of biting my lip and coming second best I have my daughter staying with me overnight tonight, ex is a selfish pain in the ass. Im as excited as the little one is I think!

Big plans for making cookies for santa, sprinkling reindeer food in the garden, will be stencilling footprints from the chimney to the mound of pressies etc.

Any other suggestions for good stuff to do ?

General Discussion Area / v6 , whats the highest mileage?
« on: 02 October 2008, 11:28:07 »
Just wondering how far these engines can go with proper servicing and belt changes?

Is there a difference between longevity of 3.0 and 2.5 ?

Are there any monster milers on here?
