Very few European cars were compliant until it began law (2001 for petrol, 2003 for diesel), as the proprietry ways kept the dealers happy.

Right then,  i have ordered a £25 bluetooth widget from fleabay and i bought that torque app mentioned above, i'll let y'all know when it arrives and if it works.
I have to admit, it sounds promising...

Well guys, it arrived today and it works just fine, does exactly what it says on the tin.
The dial display is a nice touch when driving, shows coolant temp, revs, speed, accelerometer and a couple of other bits. Works with the Torque android app. You can clear fault codes with it too.

It sticks out a bit but if i undo the socket from the fusebox i can recess the socket so the door can be shut.
