replacement d2s bulbs on migs
« on: 14 February 2012, 18:20:51 »

I need to replace one bulb besides the link rod for the level sensor, the other one is also making some problems.
Was looking at replacement bulbs on ebay, cause cant afford to buy brand new philips bulb.
Do these replacement ones work on migs(asking about the error reporting on displays and similar issues)?
If anyone has them on their migs I could use an advice.
Regards!

occasionally yes....often no.

they seem to work briefly..

have been reports of fire.

also, even when working, they are not as bright as osram or phillips...
so be careful :y

I bought 2 Osram d2s lamps from www.hids4u.co.uk for £71.53 including post & VAT.

I think main dealers charge more than that for each bulb.

I got two from Hids4u and they never worked properly...in fact I wasted hours and hours when I swapped them over only to find they didn't work properly...
Well they did...if you didn't mind sitting with your light switch on for 5 mins before driving off. It too that long for the bulbs to actually warm up and flicker on.

Twas a nightmare....Wilco sell replacements for about £60.00    Got one and it worked a treat.

I also got a pair off ebay, two years ago, no problems at all. I still have one as a spare. I think I was lucky (for a change)  :y

I bought a pair on ebay two years ago for £16.45 and they still work. No fires, no errror codes, not one problem, oh except that the right h/light doesnt fire up straight away so just switch lights off and then back on, no sitting waiting for half an hour, and the light works, and before anyone tries to give their opinion, the reason I changed the bulbs because at the time I didnt understand how they worked, was because wwith std bulbs I was getting the same problem, light not firing up, so I changed the bulbs not knowing the ballast pack was part of the problem, the best money I've saved  by not guying into "Genyoooin Factory!" crap! Just my twae boab!

What brand did you buy from Hids4u?
