BOOT RELEASE RETRO-FITTING POSSIBLE?
« on: 21 January 2011, 12:44:08 »

Hi there... :)
I believe that it is possible to furnish my 98 Omega with a "boot release" feature as it has been furnished on late models.

If agreed, starting from the 3-button key fob or an ECU like thingy, what else should I do? :-/

Believe me, it will not be a problem to drill a hole for the button into the center console right next to the hanbrake lever... ;) 8-)

Not sure if there is a special way to do it on the Omega, but if all you are after is a button on the dash to pop the boot from the inside, then there are kits readily available

in [ch351]a[ch351]maz, most of mechanics and electricians work on ready parts.. and honestly speaking most of them neither have time nor ability to do that design in the first place..

however I know 2 persons of which have this ability..

one is in ostim Serdar oto elektrik, but you must visit him personally !

imo  you also have to find some ready parts in breakers which are used especially for this subject.. I remember old ford escorts have this capability but it was mechanical.. at least the mechnical arm may be used..

 hope that helps :y
