Aerial Removal
« on: 29 August 2007, 10:39:11 »

Want to replace the roof aerial on the CDX with a small one,
for some reason, although the aerial is in the rear screen, a traditional roof aerial has been fitted.

Ive got a replacement stubby aerial (and base), but unsure how to remove the old base,
It looks to unscrew, but doesn't seem to want to come off (spins but doesnt unscrew).
Has anyone removed one, is there a trick to it?
Can it be done purely externally, or do you need access from within the car?

Cheers

the small stubby aerial is for sat nav bud !! to remove it you have to unscrew rubber stump then take down the roof lining and hold the base then there is a nut think its 19mm on the base on the roof !!  :y

Is this same on all facelift models?

i have a 52 plate 2.2 cd auto with a black stubby aerial on the roof!!
was wondering if its for the sat nav (that i dont have fitted) is all the wireing in the car to allow le to rig up my tomtom to it to give it an external aerial?
if the wireing is there then where does it come to in the dash
cheers

Korum

Think your aerial will be for the phone (Vauxhall built most of the pre wiring kit in from the factory).

The sat nav aerials consist of a stubby aerial with a flat boot on the front.
