If I like the view I can always stop and put the kettle on .... I'm sure the locals won't mind ......  :)
 .....

There's loads of lay-bys on the road for parking in if you wanted a brew!  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D

They are called passing places  :D

Really sorry guys, but I really can't justify the expense of getting to the Lakes this year. :'( As some of you may know, I've had to spend over £1000 on the Omega in the last couple of months and I've now got my road tax renewal and MOT due at the end of June and I know the front discs and pads will need doing.
Thanks to Elite Pete for offering to help out with tent sharing and even a lift from Crewe if I jumped on a train but it wouldn't be the same if I couldn't bring the Mig and the OOF gas barbie. Sorry to let you guys down with the BBQ but I'm sure you won't go hungry! ::) and hopefully I'll make it to Newent. Hope it's as good as the other Lake meets have been (with the exception of Mrs Hitler ::)) so have fun and enjoy. :y

Given I booked into caravan, I could pick you up from Hoddesdon Friday a.m. and drop you back, doubt we'd have room for the Barbie though, let me know Bob :y

Cheers Mike, really appreciated. However, I've since found out that Greg (son) is doing a sponsored cycle ride to Brighton on the Sunday and I've been nominated as his driver to bring him home. ::)
Anyway, have a great time and I'll catch up with you soon. :y

Unfortunately due to family commitments (sister in law) i am now unable to attend this meeting, was really looking foward to it and spent plenty on the car this year and pete has done plenty of work on it to have it in decent nick for the meet.

Hope to make a few later in the year to meet more of the fantastic members on here. Hope you all have a good time im sure you will :y :y

I know the A66 well from Scotch Corner to Maryport & while i agree there some ups & downs i don't know what you're all making such a fuss about. Considering the silly little cars some folk pull huge vans with even a 4 pot auto Mig would suffice if the box was used (manually) & not pushed, with no problems up hill or down dale.
I know with a 3.0 manual & a small van i've got it easy but i think there's a couple of doom mongers or wind up merchants posting B/S......? ::)
