Passed the MOT with no advisories :y

Comment was from the tester - he wished they were all like this!

Point to note - had it tested at Nationwide Autocentres, if you've got a Tesco Clubcard you get a £10 discount off the MOT charge.

Depends how much they charged you to start with I guess.......

I believe the 'official' charge is a shade over £50.......but very few garages local to me charge this amount.

The place i took my VectraC to, charges £39.90 with a free keyring led torch  ;D (Actually it isnt a bad little torch!)
They are also now advertising, no charge if we fail it  :o

Heed my warning......the only cars I ever see with major handbrake issues are autos.......i.e. seized cables, seized pivots etc....

Once a year at MOT, and occasionally at ATS/Kwick-Fit/etc has been OK for  me for the last 16 years.  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D

I do take you point though. It's the same reason that TVR cars get the bad press that they get. 2nd car used very occasionally and things sieze up without use.  :y

Excellent advice. Been there, done that, paid £250 to get it all working again....

My handbrake is used all the time, but Mark found that one of my pivot joints had siezed, the week before the MOT.
